The Motorola Center for Seamless Communications was established in August 1998. Originally named Motorola Center for Telecommunications
Research, the goal of the center has been to serve as a collaborative effort
between researchers in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at Northwestern University and Motorola to address a wide variety
of important issues in the telecommunications industry. In December 2005, the center was renamed to Motorola Center for Seamless Communications to better reflect the center's future directions towards developing technologies focused on seamless mobility.
As part of
the Motorola Center, industrial and McCormick researchers and students
develop strong collaborations and are educated in the latest
telecommunications techniques.
This website provides a brief overview of the various projects
conducted within the Center, and the many accomplishments made
along the way.
